Established in 1996, ZenHeart Research Inc. is the first in Taiwan that specializes digital pressure gauge design and amnufacturing. Over the years ZenHeart has developed numerous products, including digital pressure gauges and digital pressure switches, and has been a leading expert in this field.
Traditional Pressure Gauge vs. Digital Pressure Gauge
A traditional analog pressure gauge uses a Bourdon tube, which doesn’t require a power source and is relatively inexpensive. This type of gauges is also well known for its vulnerability - it is not shock-resistant, does not withstand impacts, has low accuracy and low readability, and breaks easily in cases of overpressure. In comparison, a digital pressure gauge is much more durable even under overpressure, and it provides quick, accurate readings with clear, high-resolution displays. Unfortunately its high production costs and frequent needs for fresh batteries limited the popularity of this type of gauges.
Development of Economy Digital Pressure Gauge
Back in 2006, when digital pressure gauges were still very expensive - one costed as much as 10 times more to produce than a traditional dial one - ZenHeart recognized the fact that digital gauges would dominate the future of pressure gauges. Determined to take on the issues of high production costs and frequent needs for battery replacements, we looked for high-tech and cost-efficient solutions that focused on specially designed ICs and production automation. We initiated R&D investments in an affordable 1 1/2-inch digital pressure gauge, aiming to finding a much more durable and affordable alternative for dial gauges. After 15 years of dedication and hard work, backed by with accumulated industry experiences and technology know-how, ZenHeart reached a breakthrough and a super energy-efficient IC was born. With this unique, proprietary IC design, the first economy 1 1/2-inch digital pressure gauge was launched in 2021. The following year, 2022, economy 1-inch built-in digital pressure gauges were introduced to the market.

- Power Consumption and Usage Life
These two models of pressure gauges can operate for 1,000 hours with a simple mini lithium battery (CR937, capacitance 23mAh), their power consumption merely 1/100 of that of gauges made by other manufacturers. When used in FRLs, spray guns or mini air compressors, they can last 5 years with a 30-minute daily use. The extremely low operational cost makes these gauges very affordable, averaging less than NT$ 0.1 per hour, or, NT$ 0.05 per day. One additional benefit – our gauges do not need battery replacements and thus help reduce lithium battery wastes that cause environmental hazards.
- Durability
The body of these two models of digital pressure gauges is made with benzene-resistant engineering plastics, excellent for industrial painting and coating applications. They are lightweight and can withstand impacts from a 3-meter drop and overpressure up to 650 PSI (40 kgf/cm2). With these distinct product characteristics, our digital pressure gauges surpass analog ones significantly.
- Affordability
With the unique IC design, ZenHeart is able to largely eliminate redundant parts, scale down the sizes of the gauges and lower production costs while increasing product reliability. We also invest in production automation by bringing in cutting-edge machineries and integrating workflows. With the “lean and mean” technology advancement and production processes, we are able to produce the most compact and longest lasting digital pressure gauge at a very affordable price of under NT$100.
Future Development
ZenHeart is very proud of its proprietary technology and continues its R&D devotion to affordable, long-lasting digital pressure gauges. We are now in the process of developing a new generation of ICs that will expand the usage life of gauges to 2,500 hours.
